Call For Translation Volunteers

(Updated for March 20, 2014)

All Dear Friends of iDOCS,

We’re pleased to announce the return of iDOCS in 2014! In this update, please read on for our call for translation volunteers.

For a quick overview of iDOCS 2014, please take the time to visit us at Get Ready for iDOCS 2014, tentatively scheduled for the 12-16th of December 2014 @ The Beijing Film Academy. Please note that our website is constantly being updated for iDOCS 2014 as we move forward to the opening event.

As shown on iDOCS 2014 Schedule of Screening, we currently have an interest in fifty-nine films with their directors representing twenty-eight countries. For your further viewing, iDOCS 2014 Films shows a selection of film trailers taken from the iDOCS 2014 Schedule of Screening list.

At the moment, we have a call for volunteers to translate film material from English to Chinese. Material may include:

Film press kits we have received form the directors
Film synopses and director biographies
Director and film affiliate interviews
Film award information
Other film related information

If you have good skill in English to Chinese translation and have a passion for documentary films – and to perhaps grow within the industry – then please consider committing to a translation project by contacting us at idocs@luxsci.net.

Outstanding translation volunteers are often provided recommendation letters for the advanced education they seek or for entry level or continued work within the documentary industry. In addition, volunteers who display high-quality work and complete tasks on time will receive one set of iDOCS 2014 screening tickets for free.

Volunteering is a great way for others to recognize your talents, no matter what your goals may be!

Some of our favorite films with material on-hand for translation are:

Please note that we only seek top-skilled volunteers who can make a serious commitment to translation and can work within a time schedule to make sure materials are translated in a timely manner. Translator volunteers that provide high-quality work for the material currently on hand may be invited to translate script text as iDOCS 2014 progresses forward.
