该片根据内村光良在2011年担当导演、原作、剧本、以及主演的舞台剧《出生在东京奥运的男人》进行改编，讲述了出生在1964年东京奥运年的主人公秋田泉一（内村光良饰），由于在年轻时获得过赛跑比赛冠军，令他产生渴望登上世界最高领奖台并为之奋斗的故事。秋田泉一无论在绘画还是书法等各个领域都囊获一等奖，但在中学时代去一蹶不振，尽受挫折。因此为契机，秋田泉一被上白石萌歌等主演的异性学生们玩弄。
